Make It a Harbor Day
The rodeo is easier to enjoy when it is part of a larger waterfront plan. Pair a morning charter or beach walk with an afternoon weigh-in, then leave room for harbor dinner and the possibility of a later return to watch more boats come in.
How Non-Anglers Can Enjoy the Rodeo
- Arrive for a public weigh-in and watch the harbor come alive as boats return.
- Pair the docks with a harbor lunch or early dinner, then walk the boardwalk.
- Use October weather as a reason to plan a beach morning and a rodeo afternoon.
- Bring children before dinner so they can see the catch, boats, and working-waterfront rhythm.
Fishing Rodeo vs. a Regular Charter
A normal charter is about your private experience on the water. A rodeo trip adds a shared community moment: registered boats, weigh-ins, categories, and the fun of seeing what other anglers brought back. If your group includes both anglers and spectators, October is a natural compromise.
